Hi,I love your idea of co-rising.You only have one life and it seems you guys have the dedication to make the most of it.I have another suggestion called 'hold hands in peace.'It goes like this:1.Go to a bar and get talking to some strangers.2.Tell them that you are not religious but that you would like in the spirit of no more wars to hold hands in peace.3.Imediately tell them that it doesn;t matter if they don't want to do it but peace between brothers and sisters is important. I've done this before and it worked!I'd like to hear how you go if you are interested...Thanks Tom Hardy from Australia
very good idea. could this be applied in other places besides a bar? now the alcohol might make people a bit more willing at a bar, but where else could you try this? a bus stop? a fast food restaurant? a coffee shop?
Hi Sarah,it couldn't be done anywhere else because often people are downcast when they're not drinking. You would get a lot of rude rejections.Maybe it would work somewhere in California!Do you think there's an inherent wickedness about combining salubrious entertainment with acts of peace?I'm sure fundamentalist Muslims may not like it but my experience of Indonesia is that it is a Muslim country whilst the local people if you proposed this with a smile and in a lingo they could understand, would certainly agree. They love holding hands especially for a good cause even at the bus stop!Never give up Sarah, you are definitely on the right track...Thanks Tom
This is a collaborative exercise in mindfulness. A group initiative to act out and understand our lives in relation to one another. We rely on each other, on the green grass, on blue skies, changing seasons; the serendipitous swell of each and every living thing dependently co-arising together. Through this project we hope to manifest these ideas intentionally in our daily lives. To creatively address the fundamental reality of our connection to all things.
20 days in length. 20 different actions chosen at random. We will all do our best, knowing this project is not about the success or failure of completing each individual task. It is, instead, about inclusion, about welcoming all experience, all attempts. Do not feel discouraged. Be heartened by the knowledge that we are all struggling, all attempting to enter a greater mindfulness of our place within the world, and within relation to one another.
Let's Co-Arise Together!!!
